Item #02
Date: July 19, 2022
To: Mayor and City Council
From: Nicole Moe, City Clerk
Jim Schaad, City Manager
Subject: League of California Cities Voting Delegates for the 2022 Annual Conference Recommendation:

Pass a Motion appointing Councilmember Gilchrist as the voting delegate and Mayor Branscum as the alternate voting delegate for the 2022 League of California Cities Annual Conference.

Rationale for Recommendation:

An important portion of the League of California Cities Annual Conference is the Annual business Meeting in which the League membership considers and takes action on resolutions that establish League policy.

The City of Marysville must designate a voting delegate and an alternate voting delegate in order to vote in the Annual Business Meeting.

Background:

Every year, the City of Marysville has designated a voting delegate and alternate to vote at the League of California Cities Annual Conference. Unless a voting delegate is designated, the City will not be able to vote on League actions. An alternate is also designated in case the voting delegate is unable to attend the conference held in Long Beach on September 7-9, 2022.

Discussion & Analysis:

The City must designate a voting delegate and an alternate in order to vote on actions before the League of California Cities at the 2022 Annual Conference.
