Item #06
Date: January 17, 2023
To: Mayor and City Council
From: Nicole Moe, City Clerk
Jim Schaad, City Manager
Subject: Residential Permit Parking Area Correction
Recommendation:
Pass a Motion 1) correcting the residential permit parking area for Area L from 504 Fifth Street(A-C) to 504 ½ D Street (A-C) and 2) adopt Resolution 2023-XX reflecting those changes.
Rationale for Recommendation:
There are a number of residential parking permit areas in the downtown area established pursuant to Marysville Municipal Code 10.48.100, and all designated residents are to be exempt from the normal parking time limits within the designated zone. The particular zones and residential addresses are set by Council Resolution.
Background:
On August 20, 2002 a Staff Report was presented to City Council requesting residential parking permits allowed for unit 504 (A-C) Fifth Street, however there is no such address. After reviewing the minutes from that meeting, the Councilmembers approved parking permits for residential units above the Candy Box, which at the time was located at 502 D Street. Based on the Staff Report, Administration added the approved permit parking under Area L for 504 (A-C) Fifth Street which should have been 504 (A-C) on D Street.
Alignment with City Council Goal(s):
This Agenda Item does not specifically align with an established City Council Goal.
