RESOLUTION NO. 2023-XX
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, STATE OF
CALIFORNIA, AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE 2023 MEASURE C / SB 1 PAVEMENT PROJECT At a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Marysville, State of California held on the 21st day of July, 2023.
WHEREAS, the City of Marysville Public Works Department circulated and publicly advertised in the Appeal Democrat newspaper on June 23 and June 30, 2023 a Notice to Bidders to receive bids based on the improvement plans and construction documents prepared by MHM Inc. of Marysville for the City dated June 23, 2023; and
WHEREAS, the City received four (4) bids for this project on July 17, 2023, from Lamon Construction Co, All-American Construction, Inc., Knife River Construction, and DeSilva Gates Construction LLC; and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received for the total project, base bid, was from Lamon Construction Co. in the amount of $2,601,533.60 to construct the improvements identified in the bid schedule provided as shown on the plans and construct documents prepared by MHM Inc. of Marysville for the City dated June 23, 2023.
WHEREAS, upon review of the lowest responsive bid received, staff recommended including Add-Alternative/Additive Bids 2 thru 5 from Lamon Construction Co. for a total award amount of 3,336,937.60 to construct the improvements identified in the bid schedule provided as shown on the plans and construct documents prepared by MHM Inc. of Marysville for the City dated June 23, 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Marysville approves to award a contract in the amount of $3,336,937.60 with Lamon Construction Co. for the construction of the 2023 Measure C SB 1 Pavement Project based on the Improvement Plans and Contract Documents and authorizes the City Manager to execute the contract subject to clarifying and conforming changes approved by the City Attorney.
