Item #05
Date: August 15, 2023
To: Mayor and City Council
From: Christian S. Sachs, Chief of Police
Jim Schaad, City Manager
Subject: Donation of Two (2) City-Owned Police Vehicles Recommendation:
Pass a Motion to approve the donation of (2) City-Owned tangible property, Police Vehicles (specifically Units #307 & #311) and, to be declared surplus and donated to the Yuba College Police Academy.
Rationale for Recommendation:
Authorizing the motion will allow staff to surplus this property that is no longer in use and taking up space within city facilities.
Background:
The City of Marysville retires a certain amount of tangible property used in City Departments due to inoperability, being obsolete, or expense of maintenance.
Should the Council approve this item, the City would donate these (2) two Police vehicles to the Yuba College Police Academy which would benefit the training of new Police Recruits within the Police Academy.
Units #307 and #311 are no longer in service and have been replaced through our vehicle replacement procedures.
Discussion & Analysis:
With Council’s authorization, Units #307 and #311, specifically 2017 Ford SUV’s, will be donated to Yuba College Law Enforcement Academy.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact for this donation.
