Subject: Request Approval to Accept $270 Donation from Christy Terrell to Assist with Offsetting Cost Associated with Animal Medical Treatment
Recommendation:
Approve the Department to accept $270 donation from Christy Terrell to assist with offsetting cost for care provided to an injured K9 named Molly.
Rationale for Recommendation:
The Department would use this donation to offset costs associated with K9 medical care provided to a dog named Molly. The Department has already expanded funding for the cost of the medical care.
Background:
Christy Terrell graciously donated funding to the Marysville Police Department. Ms. Terrell requested this donation to be used to assist with offsetting costs associated with care provided to a rescued K9 named Molly.
Discussion & Analysis:
This donation, if approved, would be deposited in the Departments donation revenue account. The Department has already paid for the medical services required for the injury dog named Molly out of the Animal Cares Services budget as required by law. Ms. Terrell heard about the circumstances with Molly and wanted to donate $270 to assist the Department in offsetting costs associated with the medical services.
Fiscal Analysis:
By receiving Council authorization, the City would accept the $270 donation from Christy Terrell to be reflected in revenue account 10-4815 (Donations for Public Safety).
