Vincenzo S. Corazza, Public Works Director, May 21, 2024 Background:
It divides the community: Marysville Leaders discuss city’s traffic woes, litigation with Caltrans, by Robert Summa, Appeal Democrat, October 27, 2023 “The effects of these highways are profound. Along with constant red light running and the refusal to obey stop signs, drivers along these highways will often use local side streets to mitigate any lights or other obstacles that may add another minute to their daily commute.
Residents in areas such as D Street, 14th Street and other local routes downtown are heavily affected by these drivers that couldn’t care less about the city’s residents or their safety. “
Highway Traffic Counts
Annual average daily traffic, abbreviated AADT, is a measure used primarily in transportation planning, transportation engineering and retail location selection. Traditionally, it is the total volume of vehicle traffic of a highway or road for a year divided by 365 days.
