What is SB 1?
Known as the Road Repair and Accountability Act, invests roughly $5 Billion a year to fixing roads, freeways and bridges in California.
Funded by increasing gasoline tax, diesel fuel tax and
vehicle registration fees.
Allocates about $1.5 Billion for local street and road
maintenance – Marysville’s share is about $25K per month.
Why are we here?
To continue receiving ~$25K per month, the oversight and accountability provisions of SB 1 requires us to submit to the California Transportation Commission expenditure
reports for previous years as well as a list of planned roadway projects.
The City Council went through this process last year with the passage of Resolution 2023-16
