Subject: Public Meeting to Receive Community Input on the Draft U.S. EPA Brownfield Cleanup Grant Application and Draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) for the Former Hotel Marysville Site
Recommendation:

Receive verbal and written public comments on the City’s draft U.S. EPA Brownfields Cleanup Grant application and the draft Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives (ABCA) for the Former Hotel Marysville site, in fulfillment of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) community notification and public participation requirements.

Rationale for Recommendation:

The City of Marysville intends to apply for a U.S. EPA FY26 Brownfields Cleanup Grant (Funding Opportunity EPA-IOLEM-OBLR-25-07) to fund removal and proper disposal of hazardous demolition debris and contaminated materials at the Former Hotel Marysville site.

EPA’s FY26 Brownfields Cleanup Grant Guidelines require applicants to:

This City Council meeting has been properly noticed and scheduled to satisfy EPA’s Community Notification and Public Meeting requirements under Section 2.B.(14) of the FY26 Guidelines.
