Subject: Appoint two (2) Marysville residents to serve on the Linda Fire Protection District effective July 1, 2026.
Recommendation:
Appoint two (2) Marysville residentsto fill the two new vacancies on the Linda Fire Protection District Board of Directors as follows: (1) John Nicoletti to a four-year term, and (2) Codi Walker to a two-year term. Both candidates submitted letters of interest for consideration.
Rationale for Recommendation:
The City of Marysville requested letters of interest from individuals to fill the two new vacancies on the Linda Fire Protection District Board of Directors representing the City. In response, the City received two letters of interest from qualified candidates. John Nicoletti has served on numerous boards and committees and resides within the city limits. Codi Walker has a background in public safety and resides within the city limits. Their respective experience and residency make them well-suited to represent the City of Marysville on the Board.
Background:
Pursuant to the LAFCo order, the annexation of the City of Marysville Fire Department into the Linda Fire Protection District required the District’s Board of Directors to expand from a three-member board to a five-member board to ensure appropriate representation for the City of Marysville.
To fill the two newly created positions, the City of Marysville issued a Request for Interest (RFI) seeking applicants from within the city. In response, the City received two letters of interest from highly qualified individuals that would serve the City well.

The proposed change facilitates Goal #3, Enhance Public Safety.
