RESOLUTION NO. 2025-27
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE TAX SHARE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
MARYSVILLE AND THE LINDA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE
OF ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, the City of Marysville and the Linda Fire Protection District have initiated and approved proceedings for the annexation of the Marysville Fire Department into the Linda Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS, as part of the annexation process, a Tax Share Agreement has been negotiated to properly allocate property tax revenues to ensure sustainable funding for fire and emergency services upon annexation; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Tax Share Agreement establishes the terms of revenue sharing and appropriation limits necessary to fund Linda Fire Protection District operations following annexation; and
WHEREAS, the approval of this agreement advances the City's strategic priorities, including Goal # 1 : Increase Fiscal Sustainability and Goal #3: Enhance Public Safety; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that approval of the Tax Share Agreement is in the public interest and necessary for the continuation and enhancement of fire protection services to Marysville .residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE, CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council hereby approves the Tax Share Agreement between the City of Marysville and the Linda Fire Protection District as presented in the staff report dated July 15, 2025.
2. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to execute the Tax Share Agreement and to take any further actions necessary to implement the terms of the agreement, including coordination with the Linda Fire Protection District and Yuba County officials.
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
