A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE ADOPTING THE

YUBA-SUTTER REGIONAL SAFETY ACTION PLAN
At a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Marysville, State of California held on July 7, 2026.

WHEREAS, the Yuba-Sutter Regional Safety Action Plan ("RSAP") was developed through a collaborative effort among Yuba County, Sutter County, the City of Marysville, the City of Yuba City, the City of Live Oak, the City of Wheatland, Fehr & Peers, and regional stakeholders to improve transportation safety throughout the Yuba-Sutter region; and WHEREAS, the RSAP establishes a data-driven framework to reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries by identifying regional and local transportation safety priorities, strategies, and implementation opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Marysville participated in the development of the RSAP and provided input throughout the planning process to ensure the Plan reflects the City's transportation safety needs and priorities; and
WHEREAS, on February 3, 2026, the Marysville City Council received a presentation on the RSAP from Adrian Engel of Fehr & Peers, reviewed the Plan, and provided direction to move forward with adoption of the RSAP; and
WHEREAS, since the February 3, 2026 City Council meeting, no substantive changes have been made to the RSAP, and the document presented for adoption is substantially the same Plan previously reviewed by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the Yuba City City Council, Yuba County Board of Supervisors, Live Oak City Council, and Wheatland City Council have each adopted the RSAP, with Sutter County anticipated to consider the Plan separately; and
WHEREAS, adoption of the RSAP does not commit the City to construct any specific project, appropriate funding, or implement any particular recommendation, and any future capital improvement projects or expenditures will be presented to the City Council for separate consideration and approval; and
WHEREAS, adoption of the RSAP positions the City to pursue future federal and state transportation safety grant opportunities and supports continued coordination with regional partner agencies
