7. Question: The festoon lighting will require wiring into the poles for the drivers, were will it enter the pole?
Response: There will need to be a ½" threaded hole below the string light bracket either manufactured into the pole or drilled and taped with a watertight SE connector.

8. Question: For the brackets on the existing arches, can they just be field welded to the arch and painted to match?
Response: Yes, that is how it is noted on the plans. The welds have to be performed by a certified welder. The area bracket and any damaged area would need to be painted green to match.

9. Question: Would an encroachment permit or building permit be required for the project? Response: Both permits are required for the project for records and inspection, but there would be no fees from the City for these permits since this is a City project.

10. Question: If coordinated correctly, could the contractor close this block of D Street to vehicle traffic during working hours when they are standing the poles and lights and installing the bollards to minimize the duration of the impact?
Response: yes, as long as the businesses are properly notified and the duration is spelled out and agreed upon prior to the closure.

11. Question: Are the contractors allowed to trim the trees when stinging the lights for access? Response: Yes, but it will be reviewed by the City prior to trimming. Cit public works crews may be available to trim the trees.

12. Question: Is the City going to want any spare parts with the equipment for this project? Response: Yes, the City will want two spare light fixtures, two spare lighting drivers, 50 spare festoon light bulbs, and two spare uninstalled bollards. An item has been added to the attached revised bid schedule for the extra parts.
