My name is Wes Porter and I am the CEO and General Manager of the CA Tigers. We are summer college baseball team that is operated out of Northern California. Up until this year we were a traveling team that had no home field. We were able to schedule some home baseball games at Bryant Field and Yuba College this summer.
I live in Yuba City and run a mortuary transportation business that supports every funeral home in Yuba and Sutter counties. I also support the Yuba and Sutter County sheriff's departments. I run the Tigers in my free time every summer because I am a former player myself trying to give back to the game of baseball.
I played at Yuba College back in 2002-2004. The summer of 2004 and 2005 | played for the Yuba-Sutter Goldsox and it was there that I was able to earn a scholarship to San Jose State to play baseball. A lot of junior college players do not get 4-year scholarship offers until the last second. My team provides the top local collegiate players to continue to have a chance to play in front of college coaches and scouts to further their careers and earn baseball scholarships.
This year's squad is highlighted by Sam and Nathaniel Hurley out of Yuba College. Neither player has a scholarship yet but we plan to fix that by the time this summer ends.
With your help, I can continue to give back in the game that supported me as an orphaned young man in the Marysville community.
