Invoice Description
Change Order – Differing Site Condition (Sewer Bypass Required) Description:
During excavation and preparation for the trenchless pipe bursting operation, an unforeseen site condition was encountered. Active sewer flow conditions and prolonged pipe leakage due to excessive cracks in existing pipeline prevent isolating flow by use of a plug. Flow is excessive in the ground flow around the pipeline and could not be adequately controlled to allow for safe and continuous pipe bursting operations. Conditions are too wet to continue bursting and all bracing has pulled into trench wall on multiple attempts.
Due to these differing site conditions, a temporary sewer bypass system is required to maintain service and facilitate completion of the work.
Scope of Additional Work:
Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to implement a temporary sewer bypass system, including but not limited to:
Installation of suction and discharge piping
Bypass pumping of existing sewer flows (approx. 200 LF to downstream manhole) Continuous operation and monitoring during active work
Removal of bypass system upon completion
Traffic Control:
Traffic control associated with this work will be minimal and incidental to the existing sewer replacement operations, consisting of cones and signage only. No additional dedicated traffic control crew is anticipated unless otherwise directed.
Justification:
