A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARYSVILLE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO DOJ REQUESTING FUNDING UNDER THE FY26 COMMUNITY POLICING DEVELOPMENT:
MICROGRANTS PROGRAM
At a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Marysville, State of California held on August 20, 2026.
WHEREAS, the City of Marysville is eligible for funding from the Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Development: Microgrants Program for the competitive funding opportunity;
WHEREAS, COPS administers the Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Development: Microgrants Program that meet performance outcomes, overall program, and selection considerations identified by Department of Justice;
WHEREAS, The City of Marysville desires to request funding from this program for the Marysville Violent Crime Response Initiative performance outcomes, overall program, and selection considerations;
WHEREAS, The City of Marysville commits to delivering the program on time and ensuring accountability;
WHEREAS, Agency Resolution is encouraged as part of a funding application package; and WHEREAS, The City of Marysville asserts that the Marysville Violent Crime Response Initiative Program aligns with the Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Development:
Microgrants Program goals, policies, and performance outcomes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Marysville as follows:
Section 1. The City Council finds the above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2. The City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager or his designee to submit an application for funding for the “Marysville Violent Crime Response Initiative” to the Department of Justice under the “FY26 Community Policing Development: Microgrants Program.” Section 3. The Finance Director is authorized to appropriate and administer grant funds in accordance with the approved project budget..
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption. 2 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of Marysville, County of Yuba, State of California, August 20, 2026, by the following vote:
