VI. PRESENTATION
1. PRESENTATION OF THE DRAFT VERSION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN
Director of Building and Planning Steve Fowler and Alison from Stantec provided the Environmental Justice Element of the General Plan presentation to the City Council.
Council provided their comments.
VII. PUBLIC HEARING
2. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION NO. 6327 AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN
CIRCULATION ELEMENT, SAFETY ELEMENT, AND LAND USE ELEMENT AND MAKING
A FINDING OF DCEMFTION UNDER THE CALIFORNIA ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ACT (CEQA) GUIDELINE 1506i(B)(3)
Mayor Garcia introduced the item and Alison from Stantec provided the presentation.
City Council provided their comments.
Mayor Garcia opened the public hearing and Council Member De La Riva motion to approve Resolution No. 6327 amending the General Plan Circulation Element, Safety Element, and Land Use Element and Making a finding of Exemption under CEQA, and Mayor Pro Tern Aguiluz second the motion. Ayes: Garcia, Aguiluz, and De La Riva. Motion passed 3-0.
VIII. CONSENT CALENDAR
Motion to approve consent items 3 through 4 by Council Member De La Riva with a second by Mayor Garcia. Ayes: Garcia, Aguiluz, and De La Riva. Motion passed 3-0.
3. MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 15, 2023, REGULAR CIFi/ COUNCIL MEETING
4. CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF A LEASE AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES FOR PROPERTY AT 4323 E. SLAUSON AVENUE FOR THE
CONTINUED USE OF THE PREMISES AS THE MAYWOOD CESAR CHAVEZ

IX. DISCUSSION ACTION ITEMS
5. C\~[\ COUNCIL APPOINTMENT OF FIVE MEMBERS TO THE YOUTH
COMMISSION
City Manager, Jennifer Vasquez, presented the item to the City Council. City Council had a discussion regarding the application submitted.
Mayor Garcia invited applicants to go up to the podium and provide a brief background and answer questions given by the City Council.
City Council discussed all applicants and selected the following to be a part of the City's Youth Commission:
Motion to appoint the following members to the Youth Commission done by Council Member De La Riva and second by Mayor Garcia:
. Seat 1: Eliud Gonzalez
. Seat 2: Roy Hernandez
. Seat 3: Jaylene Martinez
. Seat 4: Belinda Murillo
. Seat 5 Magaly Guzman
Ayes: Garcia, Aguiluz, and De La Riva. Motion passed 3-0. City Council congratulated all appointees and everyone that applied.
X. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION Non- enda Items- Time allotted: 3 minutes No public participation.
Xl. ADJOURNMENT - Mayor Garcia adjourned the meeting approximately 6:43 p. m. to the next Regular Meeting of the Maywood City Council is scheduled for Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
