The City of Maywood is proud to introduce a Leadership Academy as a key initiative to advance the City Council’s commitment to transparency, empowering our community with the knowledge and resources needed to keep residents and businesses informed and engaged. The establishment of the Maywood Leadership Academy offers a valuable opportunity for the City to strengthen civic engagement, promote transparency, and empower residents to take an active role in local government. Designed for teens, young adults, and working professionals, the program will provide a comprehensive introduction to City operations while equipping participants with essential leadership skills.

To ensure the program's success, the City Council may consider establishing a committee to consider key questions outlined in Attachment 3 of this staff report. The program’s committee could later present a structured program overview at a future city council meeting.
