1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
The meeting was called to order at approximately 5:01 p.m. by Mayor Marquez.

There were no Mayor, Councilmember, or staff comments.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION (Agenda Items only; Time allotted: 3 minutes) There was no public participation.
VI. DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEMS
1. PRESENTATION OF THE PROPOSED FISCAL YEAR 2026-2027 BUDGET AND
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM LIST
Finance Director Hanson presented the proposed Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Budget and Capital Improvement Program list. City Manager Vasquez responded to questions. City Council provided comments and direction regarding proposed staffing requests, community services funding, public safety cost-saving options, and other budget priorities.
Staff stated that the proposed budget would return for a public hearing in June.
No motion was taken.

The meeting adjourned at approximately 5:42 p.m. to the Regular Meeting of the Maywood City Council on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.
