1. CALLTO ORDER
Mayor zimmerman called the special meeting to order at 4:00 PM.

Present: Dean Deines, Bob Karurin, Matthew Liesemeyer (participated virtually), Bill Zimmerman
Absent: Lesa Sobek
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Zimmerman led the flag salute
4. OTSCUSSTON ITEMS
4.1 Notice of lnsufficient Nominees for the 2022 General Municipal Election for District 4 City Manager Armando Villa introduced City Attorney Jeffery Melching. Mr. Melching provided a presentation and reported on the background on the 2022 gene'al municipal election; insufficient nominees for District 4; elections code section 10229 noticing requirements; notice of facts and newspaper publication; candidate write-in period; fiscal impact; and recommended aclion.
The City Council inquired about why the City has been unable to have this as an option in past elections when only one candidate had been nominated.
ACTION
t. nOopteO Resolution No. 22-1199, appointing the sole District 4 candidate, Dean Deines, to the City Council and canceled the November 8' 2022 general municipal election as it relates to District 4. ?:
