DISCUSSION
The Murrieta Road Resurfacing – Salt Creek to San Quintin Avenue Project, Capital Improvement Project No. 23-07 (“Project”), consisted of resurfacing just under one mile of Murrieta Road between Camino del Sol Norte and San Quintin Avenue, installing raised medians north and south of Newport Road, reconstructing noncompliant ADA curb ramps, minor drainage improvements and shoulder widening, and reconstruction of cross gutters across Newport Road.

The final overall construction cost for the Project totaled $2,070,956, including ancillary costs for materials testing and labor compliance services, and was completed under budget.

If approved, a Notice of Completion (NOC) would be filed, which protects the City from future claims against the Project by providing proper noticing to each contractor, subcontractor, and material supplier, that the Project has been completed. The payment bond would be released upon Project acceptance by the City and the performance bond would be released one year after the date of recording of the NOC. The City has not received any stop notices that would prevent said releases.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with the acceptance of the improvements related to the Project. All costs to complete the Project were supported within previously approved Capital Improvement Program Budgets.
