WHEREAS, The City of Menifee recognizes that Riverside County has become a hub of innovation, technology and entrepreneurial activities that needs to be highlighted and shared throughout California. The City of Menifee recognizes and acknowledges the value of creating an environment that helps support innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship. With many great advances in these fields, City of Menifee will proclaim the month of April, 2024 as Innovation Month; and
WHEREAS, Riverside County is the fourth largest county in California and encompasses twenty- eight cities, numerous Tribal Governments, and several major universities and esteemed community colleges. The County is home to the March Air Reserve Base and the Naval Surface Warfare Center - Corona Division, who work closely with our educational institutions and offer entrepreneurial opportunities with military research, development, and technology transfer; and WHEREAS, our thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem is forged through partnerships with businesses, cities, chambers of commerce, and strategic partners that help make Riverside County a place for innovation and entrepreneurship; and
WHEREAS, several innovative and entrepreneurial activities and events are scheduled throughout the County in the month of April and will be featured on a calendar managed by the Riverside County Office of Economic Development. This month-long showcase has been coordinated by the County of Riverside, city municipalities, and related organizations to provide outreach and bring awareness to the various innovative and entrepreneurial activities and events that are occurring within our communities.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Menifee, does hereby proclaim the month of April 2024 as Innovation Month in the City of Menifee, California on this 3rd day of April, 2024. With this region becoming a hub of innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship, it is vital for our communities to embrace, encourage, and support these efforts in order to thrive and provide the highest quality of life for generations to come.
