RECOMMENDED ACTION
1. Cancel proceedings previously initiated via Resolution No. 24-1446 for the annexation of Union School District Elementary School No. 15, into Community Facilities District 2017-1, Maintenance Services.
DISCUSSION
On June 19, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 24-1446, declaring its intent to annex Menifee Union School District (MUSD) Elementary School No. 15 into CFD No. 2017-1 and commence the annexation proceedings for the territory to be annexed, also known as Annexation No. 24. The resolution established that a public hearing proceeding would be scheduled for August 7, 2024, and a notice of public hearing was published in a local newspaper.
Following additional discussions with representatives from MUSD and the City regarding the inability to assess public entities via Riverside County Assessor’s processes, the parties will not be moving forward with the annexation proceedings.

There is no fiscal impact associated with the recommended action. Upon MUSD’s completion of the offsite improvements, and following the City’s acceptance of the improvements, costs associated with the maintenance of the streetlights and roadway improvements would be

absorbed in approved Public Works Operating Budgets. All costs associated with the annexation process prior to this recommendation have been borne by MUSD.
