SPECIAL MEETING (3:45 PM)
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Zimmerman called the meeting to order 3:45 PM.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Ricky Estrada, Bob Karwin (3:52 PM), Lesa Sobek, Dean Deines, Bill Zimmerman
Absent: None
3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Dan Temple led the flag salute.
4. DISCUSSION ITEMS
4.1 Menifee Innovation District Specific Plan Workshop
Community Development Director Cheryl Kitzerow and Consultant Brook Peterson with Rick Engineering introduced the item and provided a presentation.
The City Council and Planning Commissioners asked staff questions . The City Council and Planning Commission provided consensus to retain 10% housing within the Menifee Innovation District and not to integrate entertainment options. The City Council and Planning Commission also provided consensus on the proposed vision statement 1: The Menifee Innovation District will be a vibrant innovation hub that attracts high -tech businesses and features mixed use options. With modern architecture, innovative infrastructure and high-quality amenities, the district will create a dynamic environment that creates high paying jobs and Includes range of entrepreneurial opportunities with incubator space, executive suites, research and development labs, light manufacturing and corporate headquarters.
