DISCUSSION
The City of Menifee’s 2023–2028 Strategic Plan outlines a vision of exceptional public safety while maintaining the City’s vibrant look and feel, with the overarching goal of making Menifee one of the safest cities in California where residents and visitors feel secure in their neighborhoods and surrounding spaces.
One of the City’s Strategic Plan’s key tasks is to develop and implement a Citywide Safety Plan (Plan) to enhance safety and a sense of well-being in the community. By initiating this Plan, the City positions itself as a leader among municipalities in California in implementing a comprehensive and proactive approach to safety planning. The Plan is aimed to provide the City with a strategic and actionable framework focused on providing guidance on prioritizing safety improvements, integrating data across departments, and establishing measurable performance metrics.
To advance this initiative, the Risk Management Division was tasked to lead the development of a comprehensive Plan. While the Plan is led by Risk Management Staff, input and coordination from all City departments would ensure relevant operational, infrastructure, and community data are incorporated into the plan.
