1 RESOLUTION NO. 26-____
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MENIFEE, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING THE TITLE VI IMPLEMENTATION PLAN AND AUTHORIZING THE
DEPUTY PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR/CITY ENGINEER TO IMPLEMENT THE TITLE VI PLAN.
WHEREAS, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act was created in 1964, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin; and
WHEREAS, multiple similar statutes were created at later dates extending discrimination protections for sex, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, and other categories; and WHEREAS, the local agencies are required to comply with Title VI and other related statutes as a condition of receiving Federal aid from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA); and WHEREAS, as a sub-recipient of financial assistance from FHWA, the City of Menifee is mandated by the United States Department of Transportation to comply with various nondiscrimination laws and regulations, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; and WHEREAS, the FHWA requires the City to adopt a Title VI Plan that provides guidance for compliance with Title VI and other related statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Menifee, California herby finds, determines, and orders as follows:
Section 1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein.
Section 2. The City Council, in regular session assembled on August 19, 2026, hereby adopts the Title VI Implementation Plan attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 3. The City Council hereby directs the Deputy Public Works Director/City Engineer to implement the Title VI Implementation Plan attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 4.Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect on August 19, 2026.
