RESOLUTION NO. 26-
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MENIFEE,
CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING THE REVISED AUTHORIZED POSITION
LISTING AND SALARY SCHEDULE FOR THE CITY OF MENIFEE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2026/2027
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the City’s Authorized Position Listing and Salary Schedule from time to time to maintain a current plan which reflects the organizational structure, workload, or otherwise; and
WHEREAS, on June 3, 2026, the Authorized Position Listing was updated to reflect changes in the 2026/2027 fiscal year budget; and
WHEREAS, the Authorized Position Listing & Salary Schedule are required to be updated based on the approved Memorandums of Understanding with five of the City’s bargaining groups, including the Menifee City Employees’ Association (General Unit), Menifee City Employees’ Association (Professional Unit), Menifee City Employees’ Association (Mid-Managers Unit), Menifee Police Officers Association, and the Menifee Police Management Association; and WHEREAS, Executive and Confidential employees shall receive the Cost of Living Adjustment applicable to their corresponding bargaining unit; and WHEREAS, the Authorized Position Listing and Salary Schedule, including the schedule of authorized positions, attached hereto, is hereby adopted pursuant to Section 45001 of the California Government Code; such list is attached to this resolution as Exhibit A and Exhibit B respectfully and incorporated herein by this reference; and WHEREAS, the changes to the Authorized Position Listing and Salary Schedule as related to the budget require Council approval; and
WHEREAS, the effective date of these updates to the Authorized Position Listing and Salary Schedule shall be retroactive to July 1, 2026; and WHEREAS, the City Manager shall implement the attached Authorized Position Listing & Salary Schedule and has the authority to select and appoint employees in accordance with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager in accordance with the City of Menifee Municipal Code Section 2.08.060(B), shall administer the City personnel system; this resolution specifically authorizes the City Manager to establish, fix and alter job classifications including titles, descriptions, compensation and number of positions in the Authorized Position Listing and Salary Schedule as needed, subject to the total personnel expenditure budget limitations approved by the City Council, and in accordance with the provisions of Gov. Code 3500 et. seq., if applicable; and
WHEREAS, all prior resolutions and parts of this resolution in conflict with this resolution are hereby rescinded.
Authorized Position Listing & Salary Schedule Resolution for FY2026/2027 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Menifee, California, does hereby determine and order as follows:
Section 1: The City Council hereby does adopt the revised Authorized Position Listing and Salary Schedule effective July 1, 2026 as presented herewith.
