Proclamation
WHEREAS, the young people of Merced are tomorrow’s leaders; and WHEREAS, many young people rely on professional youth services to help them achieve their full potential; and WHEREAS, the Merced Boys and Girls Club serves young people throughout Merced; and WHEREAS, Boys and Girls Clubs instills young people with the self-confidence to believe they can succeed at anything they put their minds to and stand at the forefront of efforts in the areas of child safety, academics, fair play, healthy lifestyles and character; and WHEREAS, the Merced Boys and Girls Club are partners to parents and the community in ensuring that the young people are in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment; and WHEREAS, the Merced Boys and Girls Club celebrates the uniqueness each child brings to the center and stand ready to equip them with building blocks to hone their natural talents NOW, THEREFORE, I, Matt Serratto, Mayor of the City of Merced, on behalf of the City Council, do hereby proclaim June 25th through July 1, 2022 as National Boys and Girls Club Week in the City of Merced.
