RE: Co-Sponsorship Merced County NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet Merced County NAACP's 62nd Freedom Fund Banquet is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Merced Senior Community Center, at 755 W. 15th Street, Merced.
It has been two years since we have been able to have a fundraiser, and we look forward to having this one. We hope that as in the past the City of Merced will co-sponsor the event. We will provide insurance as well as the needed security for the event as we have in the past.
The NAACP was founded in 1909 in New York City by an economically and racially diverse group of citizens fighting to end the lynching of African Americans, discrimination, and promote social justice ensuring a society in which everyone has equal rights. Today 114 years later the NAACP continues to fight for equal and civil rights for all citizens.
The annual Freedom Fund Banquet allows our local branch to raise funds to support the work of the National and Local branch of the NAACP. The Merced Branch of the NAACP is a 501(C)(4).
2 As we both continue to support the progressive growth and diversity of our community your sponsorship of this event sends a strong message of support, caring, and encouragement for all citizens to see and benefit from.
