SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT FOR
LEGAL SERVICES
THIS SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT is made and entered
into this__ day of _ 2022, by and between the City of Merced, a California Charter Municipal Corporation ("City"), and Jackson Lewis, P.C., a Professional Corporation ("Firm").
WHEREAS, City desires to engage Firm for specialized legal services related to personnel matters; and,
WHEREAS, City and Firm have previously entered into an Agreement for Legal Services ("Agreement") dated November 29, 2018 and First Amendment dated March 15, 2021; and
WHEREAS, City and Firm desire to amend said Agreement to provide for additional compensation in connection with said project.
NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto, in consideration of the mutual covenants hereinafter recited, agree as follows:
Section II, "ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION," is hereby added to the Agreement to read as follows:
"SECTION II. ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION. City
shall pay to Firm the not to exceed additional sum of
Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000), bringing the total contracted amount to $134,000."
3. Except as herein amended, the Agreement dated November 29, 2018, shall remain in full force and effect.
