Re: I Street Merced Project - PLHA Funding Request

California’s Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) released a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Permanent Local Housing Allocation Program (PLHA), which provides grants to “Entitlement and Non-entitlement Local governments in California for housing- related projects and programs that assist in addressing the unmet housing needs of their local communities.” As an entitlement authority, the City of Merced is eligible for approximately $1,787,000 in PLHA 2021-2023 Funds. The program is currently open, and the state is accepting applications through October 31, 2022.

Linc Housing is requesting to utilize 95% of the PLHA 2021-2023 allocation for an affordable rental project in the City of Merced (approximately $1,691,000). Linc Housing anticipates the project will be approximately 54 units and the units will serve households earning 30%-80% of the area median income (AMI).

Thank you for consideration of this request. We are thankful for our continued partnership with the City of Merced and look forward to working with you on the PLHA program.

Should you have any questions regarding the application or need additional information, please contact me at [email protected].

Sincerely,

Will Sager
