A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MERCED, CALIFORNIA,
AMENDING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN BY
UPDATING THE PERSONNEL ALLOCATION IN
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT BY ADDING THE
PARAMEDIC JOB CLASSIFICATION AND
SALARY, ADDING EMERGNECY MEDICAL
TECHNICIAN JOB CLASSIFICATION AND
SALARY, ADDING THE FIREFIGHTER I/II JOB
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY, ADDING THE
ENGINEER I/II JOB CLASSIFICATION AND
SALARY, ADDING THE FIRE CAPTIAN I/II JOB
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY; AND
DELETING THE FIRE FIGHTER JOB
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY, DELETING
THE ENGINEER JOB CLASSIFICATION AND
SALARY, AND FIRE CAPTAIN JOB
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY
WHEREAS, the Fire Department will have both advanced life support and basic life support ambulances to transport the ill and injured; and, WHEREAS, personnel are needed to staff advanced life support and basic life support ambulances; and,
WHERAS, the Fire Department ambulance staff shall be compensated for both advanced life support and basic life support service; and, WHEREAS, the Fire Department suppression companies will upgrade trained personnel to advanced life support capability; and, WHEREAS, the Fire Department personnel shall be compensated for advanced life support services;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERCED
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, FIND, AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS:

SECTION 2. The Classification Plan of the City of Merced is hereby amended by updating the personnel allocation in the Fire Department by adding 18 Fire Captain I/II, 18 Engineer I/II, and 24 Firefighter I/II and deleting 18 Fire Captain, 18 Engineer, and 24 Fire Fighter positions.
SECTION 3. The Pay Plan of the City of Merced is hereby amended with the positions and pay steps as set forth in the attached Exhibit A.
SECTION 4. The Classification Plan of the City of Merced is hereby updating the Position Control for the Fire Department to add 24 Firefighter I/II PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Merced at a regular meeting held on the day of 202_, by the following vote:
