DISCUSSION
The Tyler Enterprise software solution is an essential software package for the City of Merced, and its two public safety agencies that use it. This software package is used to provide public safety support to both police and fire while assisting the citizens of Merced. (CAD), and the Law Enforcement Records Management System (LERMS), allows the passthrough of information from the caller calling into dispatch for service through the dispatcher to the police or fire units in the field and then on to the field reporting software and end its workflow at the records side to be processed and made available for release to the citizens or to the courts.

In 2020, the City of Merced entered into a 5-year software maintenance agreement that provides for software support and updates to the Tyler software suite. This maintenance does not support the hardware (server) and server software.

The City is currently running on a version of the server and software that is soon to be end-of-life and the software and hardware must be upgraded. The Police Department needs new servers to house our existing public safety software. This upgrade will also allow the department to update their software to any of the newer applications that would require updated servers.

The cost of the professional services through Tyler Technologies is a one-time cost of $21,624.

There will be no additional charges or changes to our service agreement for the purchase of these services.

IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES
Funding is available for the purchase of the server migration under the current year budget under account number 83-1055-523-43-00, under project number 123057.
