A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF MERCED, CALIFORNIA,
ADOPTING A POLICY FOR DISPLAY OF
CEREMONIAL AND COMMEMORATIVE FLAGS
ON CITY FLAGPOLES
WHEREAS, the City of Merced ("City") displays flags on City flagpoles in accordance with federal and state law; and
WHEREAS, displays of flags on the City's flagpoles express the City's official sentiments; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the need for a policy for the display of ceremonial and commemorative flags on City flagpoles.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERCED
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE, FIND, AND ORDER AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Merced hereby adopts the City Council Administrative Policies and Procedures C-7: Ceremonial and Commemorative Flag Display Policy attached hereto as Exhibit A.
