Grant Policy
Expedite the process and establish consistent procedures.
Grants less than $50,000
• Delegate to City Manager the authority to apply and accept • Delegate to Finance Officer to make necessary budget
adjustments of revenue and expense
• Allows the use of pooled cash for reimbursement grants Grants of $50,000 or more
• Require Council action to approve a resolution to apply • Require Council action to accept and appropriate
Criteria
• Council has a policy, fund or plan in place supporting the program or grant activities.
• Grant or application does not require any additional City funds not already budgeted for this purpose.
Criteria
• Activities proposed for grant funding should be consistent with City’s mission and strategic goals.
• Funds will be used to purchase or lease real property. • City acts as a fiscal agent for another agency.
• Appropriation of additional funds to serve as matching funds is required.
• Granting agency requires governing body approval to apply or accept funding.
