I recently graduated from UC Merced with a degree in Human Biology. I am applying for this commission because I want to expand my knowledge of the Merced community and become more involved in serving the people who live here. I hope to better understand the needs and concerns of our community and contribute to making Merced a safer and better place for everyone.

I recently resigned from my position at Paris Baguette in Fresno, CA. In addition to my work experience, I have been involved in serving my community through volunteer work. I have volunteered with Merced Lao Family, assisting with food drives. From August 2018 to May 2022, I also volunteered during high school, where I helped organize events and activities for youth in Merced. These experiences have allowed me to connect with members of the community and strengthened my desire to continue giving back and contributing to the wellbeing of Merced residents.
What is your understanding of the roles and responsibilities of this Board or Commission?
My understanding of the role and responsibilities of this commission is to listen to the concerns of the Merced community and work toward solutions that benefit the residents. I believe the commission should represent the interest of the community, provide thoughtful input, and recommendations.
