MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETINGS OF THE
MONROVIA CITY COUNCIL
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2025
CLOSED SESSION: Mayor Becky A. Shevlin convened the Special Meeting/Closed Session of the Monrovia City Council on December 23, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., to discuss CS-1 Conference with Real Property Negotiator pursuant to Government Code §54956.8; Assessor Parcel Numbers 8503-004-021; City Negotiator: City Manager; Negotiating Party: Steven and Corina Pokrajac; Under Negotiation: Terms.
All members were present, with Councilmembers Belden and Jiménez attending via video conference in accordance with Government Code Section 54953(b). Mayor Shevlin adjourned the closed session at 6:03 p.m.
STUDY SESSION: Mayor Shevlin convened the Special Meeting of the Monrovia City Council on December 23, 2025, at 6:05 p.m. in City Council chambers. In attendance were City Manager, Dylan Feik, City Attorney Craig A. Steele, and City Clerk Alice D. Atkins.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Kelly led the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL: In attendance were Councilmembers Edward Belden, Sergio Jiménez, Larry J. Spicer, Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Tamala Kelly, and Mayor Becky A. Shevlin. Councilmembers Belden and Jiménez attended via video conference in accordance with Government Code Section 54953(b).
REPORT OF CLOSED SESSION: The City Attorney stated that the City Council met in Closed Session to discuss the item on the posted agenda and took no reportable action. All members were present, with Councilmembers Belden and Jiménez attending via video conference.
PUBLIC INPUT: None.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS:
AR-1 Consider a Real Property Land Donation of Approximately 5.19 Acres (a Portion of Assessor’s Parcel No. 8503-004-021), including the Historic “M”, from Owners Steve and Corina Pokrajac for Inclusion in the Monrovia Hillside Wilderness Preserve Dylan Feik, City Manager, reviewed the agenda report and answered questions of the City Council.
It was moved and seconded to accept the real property land donation of approximately 5.19 Acres (a portion of Assessor’s Parcel No. 8503-004-021), including the Historic “M”, from Owners Steve and Corina Pokrajac for inclusion in the Monrovia Hillside Wilderness Preserve, and authorize the City Clerk to sign the certificate of acceptance on behalf of the City. The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
ADJOURNMENT: Mayor Shevlin adjourned the meeting at 6:22 p.m.
