To Public Works <[email protected]>
Dear Dave-
I hope you enjoyed the holiday. I wanted to give you a quick heads-up that the Siskiyou Economic Development Council is planning to nominate Montague as part of California's Opportunity Zone 2.0 application process.
Federal Opportunity Zones are intended to encourage long-term private investment in rural and underserved communities by providing tax benefits to investors, and we think Montague is well worth nominating.
Over the next few weeks, Jen and I will be working on the application. We may need a little help collecting local information and data, as well as identifying community priorities and opportunities that will help tell the story.
The timeline is short, so we appreciate any assistance you can provide. l've copied Jen on this email, so you'll have both of our contact information. Please don't hesitate to reach out to either of us with any questions or ideas.
If it would be helpful, we'd also be happy to come to an upcoming City Council meeting to share a little more about the Opportunity Zone program, the application process, and what we're hoping to accomplish. If that sounds useful, just let us know when would be a good time.
Thanks, as always, for your partnership. We look forward to working with you on this effort.
Warmly,
Tonya
