A. Review of the Ralph M. Brown Act and Public Meeting Conduct City Attorney Robbins provided a presentation on the Brown Act and public meeting conduct, detailing the organization, roles and responsibilities, and conduct of legislative body members both during and outside of public meetings. The presentation addressed the public’s right to participate in the legislative process, emphasized ethical conduct and behavior, and provided guidance on avoiding legal violations. Additionally, it covered training requirements for public officials, annual reporting of economic interests; and scenarios in which a public official’s use of social media communications could violate the Brown Act.
