QUESTIONS FOR COMMUNITY CENTER COMMITTEE APPLICANTS
1. Why do you want to be on the Community Center Committee? I would like to shape the future of this project to best serve the community as a place to gather.
2. Have you been on Monte Sereno Site & Architectural Commission or a planning commission in another jurisdiction? If so, please describe your role on that commission and the length of time that you served.
Yes, I served on the Site and Architecture Commission for 10 years as a Commissioner, Vice Chair and Chair. In those capacities, we as Commissioners navigated the determination that projects met the design criteria designed by the City of Monte Sereno. The Commission meetings also served as a place for neighbors to be heard and work out grievances with neighbors. We also guided City Council in developing building standards and gave guidance for variance projects.
3. Describe your experience working ·with site development plans, building envelopes and setbacks, topographical surveys, building floorplans, elevations, cross sections, roof plans, landscaping plans and three dimensional building models.
I have worked as a designer professionally for 20+ years and have experience executing and interpreting site development plans, building envelopes, setbacks, topographical surveys, building floorplans, elevations, cross sections, roof plans, landscaping plans and three dimensional building models.
4. The Community Center Committee will meet several times during the design phase, expected to be from January 18 to February 28, 2023. Subsequent meetings will be less frequent until the project is completed. All meetings will be noticed 72 hours in advance. Will your current commitments allow you to participate in these meetings?
Yes
5. What do you see as key issues to be considered in the design of Monte Sereno's Community Center? Working with the setback and as builts and designing the building so it can serve the community best.
6. How long have you resided in Monte Sereno? Based on your knowledge of the City and its residents, what do you believe the unmet needs, if any, of the City are that the community center needs to fulfill? I have lived in Monte Sereno for 30 years. We do not have a place to gather for events and meeting. I see the community center as a way to create a place where community bonds can be made.
7. What strengths do you possess that you believe will make you a successful representative of the residents of the City of Monte Sereno to serve on the Community Center Committee? I am extremely analytical and can provide feedback on proposed plans and needs for the community center as well as possessing the professional skills mentioned in number 3.
