MEETING CALLED TO ORDER
At 4:01 p.m., Mayor Craig called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL
Present – Chambers: Councilmember Shannon, Councilmember Mekechuk, Vice Mayor Allan and Mayor Craig
Present – Remote: None
Absent: None
Staff: City Clerk Gonzalez-Langarica, City Manager Perkins and City Attorney Powell
NEW BUSINESS
1. Interview and Appointment to Fill Vacant City Councilmember Seat Mayor Craig provided instructions as to how the interview process would be conducted, following with how the Council will vote to determine the candidate who will become the next Councilmember.
Candidates:
• Liz Lawler
• Ken Toren
• Genevieve Duflock
• Bob Lapcevic
• Marc Vallancey
Interviews ensued.
Mayor Craig opened the item for Public Comment.
Public Comment
▪ Resident Zeidler spoke in favor of candidate Lawler.

▪ Resident Call spoke in favor of candidate Lawler.
▪ Resident McCarthy spoke in favor of candidate Toren.
▪ Candidate Vallancey spoke in favor of candidate Toren.
City Clerk Gonzalez-Langarica read into the minutes an email received this afternoon from resident Taormina.
With no one else wishing to speak, Mayor Craig closed Public Comment.
Council proceeded with ranking each candidate.
Liz Lawler was ranked number one.
MOTION: Motion by Vice Mayor Allan to Appoint Liz Lawler as Councilmember for the City of Monte Sereno. Seconded by Councilmember Shannon.
VOTE: Motion failed. (2-0-2 Noes: Mekechuk, Craig)
Ken Toren was ranked number two.
MOTION: Motion by Councilmember Mekechuk to Appoint Ken Toren as Councilmember for the City of Monte Sereno. Seconded by Vice Mayor Allan.
VOTE: Motion passed. (3-0-1 Noes: Shannon)
ADJOURN
The meeting of the Special City Council Meeting adjourned at approximately 5:11 p.m.
