NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting for the City of Montebello City Council is hereby called to be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, Council Chambers, located at 1600 West Beverly Boulevard, Montebello, CA 90640 and from various locations via Zoom or other electronic platforms.
COVID-19 NOTICE: Pursuant to the Governor’s Executive Order No N -29-20 and N -35-20 from the Executive Department of the State of California and the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health Safer at Home Order, Council Members may atte nd City Council meetings via teleconferencing and make public meetings accessible telephonically or electronically to all members of the public seeking to observe and address the City Council . The City Council and Staff may meet in person at City Hall but due to the increased transmission of COVID-19 and to ensure the health and safety of the public, the Council Chambers will be closed to the public and all real time public participation , pursuant to Assembly Bill 361, will continue to occur telephonically and/or in writing until further notice. Consistent with the Executive Order, the City Council meeting will continue to be live streamed and can be watched on the City’s website at:
https://www.cityofmontebello.com/government/live-streaming.html, and may also be viewed on Spectrum Public Access Channel 3 for all Spectrum cable subscribers.
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT: In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) any person with a disability who requires special accommodations in order to participate in a meeting should contact the Administration Office at (323) 887- 1363 Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. Please call 48 hours prior to the meeting to ensure that reasonable arrangements can be made to provide accessibility to this meeting (28 CFR 35.102 -35.104 ADA Title II 1203). If you require translation services, please contact the City Clerk’s office 24 hours before this meeting.

STATEMENT OF PUBLIC COMMENTS AND PARTICIPATION: Members of the public interested in addressing the City Council during this Special Meeting may only address the items which have January 19, 2022 – Call and Notice of a Special Meeting Page 2 of 3
been described in the notice of this Special meeting in accordance with Government Code Section 54954.3(a). State Law prohibits the City Council from taking action or entertaining extended discussion on a topic not listed on the agenda . In order to conduct a timely meeting, the maximum time allotted for each comment shall not exceed three (3) minutes per person; the period for “Public Comments” may be limited to 30-minutes.
Pursuant to Assembly Bill 361, for those interested in participating during the public comment period or public testimony period for public hearings of the City Council meetings, you may call in to the City Clerk’s office as listed below until the day of the meeting prior to the start of the “Public Comment” period, Wednesday, January 19, 202 2. The public can submit speaker card re quests telephonically by calling (323) 887- 1216, Staff will complete/number the speaker cards and speakers will be called in the order received during the City Council meeting – Closed Session begins at 5:00 p.m. and Regular Session begins at 6:00 p.m. The exact call back time is not predictable due to the nature of the City Council agenda. As a result, you must be available until the end of the Public Comment period.
The City has also created an email address, [email protected] , where
the public can submit written comments up until the day of the meeting, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 before 3:00 p.m. These comments will be submitted to all members of the City Council and may not be read aloud, but will be entered into the record of the proceedings to the extent they relate to matters listed on the posted agenda. Any requests to provide public comment which is submitted after the deadlines indicated above will not be submitted to the City Council until the after the meeting.
