NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Special Meeting for the City of Montebello City Council is hereby called to be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at City Council Chambers, 1600 West Beverly Boulevard, Montebello, CA 90640 and other electronic/telephonic platforms.
COVID-19 NOTICE: Pursuant to Assembly Bill 361 and the ongoing State of Emergency in regard to COVID -19, Council Members may attend City Council meetings via teleconferencing and make public meetings accessible telephonically or electronically to all members of the public seeking to observe and address the City Council. The City Council and Staff will meet in pe rson at the Council Chambers and a ll real time public participation, pursuant to Assembly Bill 361, will take place in person by attending the Special City Council meeting at C ity Hall – City Council Chambers, 1600 West Beverly Boulevard, Montebello, CA 90640; and will continue to occur telephonically and/or in writing for this meeting . Consistent with the Executive Order, the City Council meeting will continue to be live streamed and can be watched on the City’s website at: https://www.cityofmontebello.com/government/live-streaming.html, and may also be viewed on Spectrum Public Access Channel 3 for all Spectrum cable subscribers.
AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT: In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) any person with a disability who requires special accommodations in order to participate in a meeting should contact the Administration Office at (323) 887-1 216 Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. Please call 48 hours prior to the meeting to ensure that reasonable arrangements can be made to provide accessibility to this meeting (28 CFR 35.102 -35.104 ADA Title II 1203). STATEMENT OF PUBLIC COMMENTS AND PARTICIPATION: Members of the public interested in addressing the City Council during this Special Meeting may only address the items which have been described in the notice of this Special meeting in accordance wit h Government Code April 8, 2022 – Call and Notice of a Special Meeting Page 2 of 3
Section 54954.3(a). State Law prohibits the City Council from taking action or entertaining extended discussion on a topic not listed on the agenda. In order to conduct a timely meeting, the maximum time allotted for each comment shall not exceed three (3) minutes; Public Comments may be limited to 30-minutes.
Pursuant to Assembly Bill 361, f or those interested in p articipating during the public comment period , you may address the City Council in person or call in to the City Clerk ’s office as listed below until the day of the meeting prior to the start of the “Public Comment” period, Friday, April 8 , 2022 . In person speakers will be addressed first, telephonic speaker cards will follow thereafter. In person speakers will be required to fill out a speaker card provided at the door and turn it into the Deputy City Clerk prior to the Public Comment announcement period. Staff will number a nd call on each speaker card in the order received.
The public can submit speaker card re quests telephonically by calling (323) 887-1 359, Staff will complete/number the speaker cards and speakers will be called in the order received during the City Council meeting .
Both in person speakers and speaker cards will be addressed during the “Public Comments on Agenda Items” period only. The City has also created an email address, [email protected], where the public can submit written comments up until, Thursday, April 7, 2022 no later than 3:00 p.m. These comments will be submitted to all members of the City Council and may not be read alou d but will be entered into the record of the proceedings to the extent they relate to matte rs listed on the posted agenda or otherwise address matters/issues within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council.
