Subject: [External Email] Agenda item 3
Good evening everyone,

Today, I would like to address agenda item number three, which is the current absence of a city manager. While some sources suggest that the absence is due to personal leave or a medical surgery, it is important to remember that the city manager is responsible for running the city and answering to the council, who in turn answer to the residents.

Under the guidance of the city manager, we have seen a lack of oversight, resulƟng in a decrease in the number of police officers and firefighters. In fact, we went from being ranked 10th at risk to 5th at risk. Meanwhile, the city manager is currently making roughly $25,000 a month, which is over $300,000 a year, not including benefits. This alone calls for more oversight on the city manager and directors.

Moreover, why is the city hiring an assistant fire chief and assistant police chief, especially aŌer the council has already voted to freeze those two posiƟons? This seems like a clear act of insubordinaƟon. How are we able to have these new hires, and does the assistant city manager have that in her contract? It is also concerning that the city is erasing history and removing contracts from public record.

Hiring addiƟonal supervisors when we are already at an all-Ɵme low of employees does not make sense. The chiefs already make over $20,000 a month, and we need to consider the financial ramificaƟons that residents will have to bear.

It appears that there have been some bad business decisions made, and we need to hold those responsible accountable.

And yes, there is an opƟon to fire him despite what some of the residence that are cheerleading for him say more residents want him to be removed from his posiƟon.

Thank you for your Ɵme.
