I have lived in the city of Monterey for several years and wish to serve my community in whatever way I can. I understand that there is currently (as of February 2026) an opening for an alternate member on the Appeals Hearing Board and a member on the Measure P and S Oversight Committee. I would be delighted to serve on either committee. I have also selected the NCIP Committee option above, even though I understand that there is not currently a vacancy for my neighborhood (Old Town). If one should open up in the near future, I wish to be considered for that opening.

My background is in education (both secondary and post-secondary), and I am currently on the psychology faculty at Hartnell College.

I believe I would bring a thoughtful, measured, logical, and analytical perspective to any board or committee I might serve on. I am highly deliberative and comfortable approaching an issue from many different perspectives. I am also good at decision-making and weighing options.

Since moving here six years ago I have become increasingly involved in local affairs. I have the time, it's a way to "give back." I have been active in the Monterey Vista Neighborhood Association and am currently serving as president of that group..

I research issues carefully and have the ability to weigh facts dispassionately.

I am a Monterey resident who both values the community, environment and generally way of life here, but I also understand the need to balance this with the necessity to accommodate change due to factors like increased housing density and climate change.
