3.30 references the “State Board of Equalization” as the California agency responsible for collecting and remitting the new tax on the City’s behalf.

The successor in interest to the State Board of Equalization is the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA). The CDTFA requested that the City Council identify this new agency as the one responsible for collecting the City’s taxes under MPMC Chapter 3.30.
