Recommendation(s)
That the City Council:
1. Approve the attached calendar covering the 2024 City Council Summer Recess.
2. Discuss and provide staff with direction regarding a 2024 City Council Summer Recess.
SUMMARY
Historically, the City Council goes dark from mid-July through mid-August, and meetings during that period are canceled. In 2023, Council approved a schedule canceling the Regular City Council meetings scheduled for July 4th, July 18th, and August 1st, as well as City Council Study Sessions scheduled for July 11 th and August 6 th, resuming Council Meetings on August 15th.
This year the timeline could be scheduling the month of July for Council Recess by cancelling the Regular City Council meetings: July 2 nd, and July 16 th as well as City Council Study Session scheduled for July 9 th and resuming the Regular Meetings on August 6, 2024.

ALTERNATIVES
1. Council decide on an alternate schedule based on their summer scheduled vacations.
2. Do not schedule a summer recess and hold all scheduled meetings.
