Why do you wish to serve on this Board and/or Commission? The City of Moreno Valley has several volunteer vacant positions open and I am a retired person with plenty of experience and education that will appreciate an opportunity to get busy helping my resident city meet its staffing needs without incurring much costs.
List any education, training, or special skills you have which may be relevant or of particular benefit to this Board and/or Commission:
B.A. ECONOMICS, M.P.A. PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, GLOBAL LOGISTICS SPECIALIST (GLS) Associate Transportation Planner for the State of California (CALTRANS) for 34 years. Specialized communication skills for working with persons from various backgrounds. Worked well with staff, Upper Management, the Press, and general public. Use of specialized equipment for daily tasks such as computers and other communication equipment. Licensed to operate personal and work vehicles.
Explain briefly your understanding of what this Board and/or Commission does, including its powers and limitations.
The Planning Commission takes on City development and fairly enforces zoning laws and regulations as established by the City and, sometimes State and National governments. Planning Commissions have regulatory powers regarding zoning laws and regulations of a city orland county. Courts can and do overrule Planning Commissions sometimes. Politics do sometimes influence Planning Commission decisions.
What do you hope to accomplish by your participation?
Contribute to the future development of the City by working as a team member. Share my experiences and education with other Commissioners, staff and the general public when and if needed,
