Why do you wish to serve on this Board and/or Commission? Being a long time resident of Moreno Valley, I believe I have acquired a knowledge of what the resident's want for the community as well as what has been beneficial to the populace as a whole and what has not been beneficail or successful.
List any education, training, or special skills, you have which may be relevant or of particular benefit to this Board and/or Commission:
1 have travel extensively throughout the US as well as internationally and have seen cities that think out of the box to plan for the future. I am a detailed oriented person. I ask questions and obtain thorough knowledge before making decisions that would have Impacts for years to come.
Explain briefly your understanding of what this Board and/or Commission does, including its powers and limitations.
The Planning Commission oversees planning and development matters, zoning issues, and variances from the Zoning Code for all commercial, industrial, and other non-residential properties within the The Commission also oversees lot consolidation, lot splits, as well as conditional use requests, rezonings, all signage and all signage variances, and requests to demolish existing commercial and industrial buildings. The commision does not exercise legal power to approve or deny devalopments and plans,city councils or county boards have the final say on land use planning and development.
What do you hope to accomplish by your participation?
Work with other council members to make informed recommendations on the growth and prosperity of Moreno Valley for many years to come.
Understand the city philsophy on city growth and make recommendations that support that philosophy with negative impact to the people and other business within the city List any employment, volunteer work, or membership in a service/community organization that you have served on, or are now a member of.
