A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MORENO
VALLEY, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING AND AUTHORIZING CERTAIN
CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT AND DOCUMENTS TO
OBTAIN FEDERAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED BY THE
FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY AND SUB-GRANTED
THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF EMERGENCY
SERVICES
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 203 of the Stafford Act, the Building Resil ient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) program was created to support states, local communities, tribes, and territories as they undertake hazard mitigation projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MORENO VALLEY, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That t he City Manager, Assistant City Manager, Community Development Director, or Building Official , is hereby authorized to execute for and on behalf of the City of Moreno Valley, an agreement, and documents, and to file documents with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for the purpose of obtaining federal financial assistance for an y existing or future grant program, including, but not limited to the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) under Public Law 93-288 as amended by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act of 1988, and/or state financial assistance under the California Disaster Assistance Act.
SECTION 2. In connection with the BRIC program, the City of Moreno Valley authorizes its agent(s) to provide to the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for all matters pertaining to such disaster assistance the assurances and agreements required.
SECTION 3. This is a disaster/grant specific resolution and i s effective for only disaster/grant number BRIC23-AP01743.
