Why do you want to serve on the City's Emerging Leaders Council? I want to serve on the City's Emerging Leaders Council because I really want to help resoive any problems that occur - throughout our community. I'm very passionate about helping others and solving problems, and I think serving on this council fulfills that. I moved to Morero Valley after 8th grade, and although Twas very reluctant at hirst, Ive come to really love this city and the sense of belonging and community here. I'd really like to help this city whatever way possible.
Describe any experience you have had that has prepared you to serve on the Council. believe that I've had several experiences that have prepared me to serve on the Council. For instance, I'm the vic resident and prosecuting pre-trial attorney in Mock Trial at my high school. I'm very comfortable communicating with other:
especially those of higher authority. In Mock Trial, I frequently spoke to judges, attorneys, and witnesses in a professional manner.
As vice president, I also helped direct group meetings as well as taking points to help us improve.
What issues would you address or activities would you plan if you were a Council Member? I believe that interacting with one another is extremely important, so an activity l'd address would be the Teen S.P.O.T. I believe that this program is great, as it allows people my age to socialize, participate in activities, and - get assistance in academic subjects. However, I do believe that this program could utilize some more advertising, I believe that something as simple as more fliers and announcements online would grab the attention of more teenagers to get involved in the Teen S.P.O.T.

What do you think is one of the major issues teens/young adults face in Moreno Valley and how would you address it?
One major issue that affects some teens in Moreno Valley is poverty. One possible way that I would address this is by discussing this matter with the council to brainstorm ideas to help those in need. For example, organizing charity events for the community to get involved in.
What do you hope to accomplish by your participation on the Emerging Leaders Council? How will your participation enhance your future goals and objectives? the Emerging Leaders Council, I hope to accomplish more community engagement as well as collaboration becau believe thar ir will strengten our communty. Additonally, participating in the council would bring me public servit experience, which will be extremely beneficial as aspire to be an attorney serving the community one day.

For the Parent/Guardian: I give permission for Jayden Najera to apply to be on the City of Moreno Valley Emerging Leaders Council as a Member at Large. If selected, I will permit and support them in attending meetings and activities related to the Emerging Leaders Council. I understand that meetings may be at various times and locations throughout the City of Moreno Valley and beyond City boundaries. I will support and encourage them to fuifill their participation requirements and professional standards as well as uphold the ELC values, mission, and objectives.
Photo Release: I give permission to the City of Moreno Vailey to take photographs while participating in ELC events and activities for the use in future City publicity in broadcast, brochures, telecasts, newspapers and any promotional advertising or other materials. I waive any rights to privacy or publicity I may have in connection with such uses and understand that I will not receive any compensation for such use.
